Western PA Fall Greenhouse Meeting 2013

You are invited to attend a greenhouse production and marketing meeting for producers and marketers of floriculture crops. Research-based information on best management practices will be presented in the areas of floriculture production techniques, controlling pests, pesticide safety, and marketing your business in the new world of social media. Pesticide recertification credits for licensed Pennsylvania and West Virginia applicators will be awarded.

Feature Speakers include:

Ray Cloyd

Ray Cloyd is a nationally recognized expert on entomology and integrated pest management in ornamental horticulture. A prolific researcher, engaging educator, and mentor to many students, Dr. Cloyd received the Alex Laurie Award for Research and Education from the Society of American Florists in 2011, and the Outstanding Extension Educator award from the American Society for Horticultural Sciences in 2012.

Sinclair Adam

Sinclair Adam recently joined Penn State Extension as an Extension Floriculture Educator in Lebanon County. Sinclair will have major responsibility in managing the flower trials at the Landisville Ag Research and Extension Center. Sinclair comes to Penn State Extension with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Most recently he was an Adjunct Professor in the Plant and Soil Science Dept., at the University of Vermont. Prior to this position Sinclair was at Temple University. In addition, Sinclair and his wife Kirsten operated Dunvegan Nursery from 1989 until 2010 when they joined forces with Vermont Organics Reclamation. Sinclair’s passion for breeding native plants is known throughout the industry by such innovative introductions as Tiarella ‘Erika Leigh’, ‘Laird of Skye’, ‘Brandywine’ and ‘Oakleaf’.
