PLNA MEETUP REPLAY
Water Crest Farms, the company William H. Wells, owns with brother, David, hosted the first-ever PLNA meet-up. Over 90 people gathered on a hot Thursday evening to hear Dr. Frett of University of Delaware speak, to talk shop and mostly to enjoy some camaraderie. The industry was well represented and included landscape contractors, nursery, retail, golf course, public hort, related chemical suppliers and municipalities from PA, DA, NJ, NY and MD.
The food and beverage were enjoyed by all as networking with industry friends, new and old, was a highlight for so many. Everyone had a great time and wanted to know when the next one would take place. Two local members volunteered to host another PLNA MeetUp event.
It was great to see old members and even better to see many new friends there. For some, this may well have been their first exposure to PLNA. A few people said they were too busy to come out and we hope next time they can make it. Water Crest Farms graciously decided to donate the funds collected at the door (approximately $500) to the PLNA PAC.
This event was a true vision of what a trade group looks like and some of what it does. PLNA is working with members to build this PLNA MeetUp program with the intent to help industry colleagues reconnect and reach out to new folks within the industry.
