Regional Green Industry Professionals are invited to join Penn State Extension and Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve for a day-long pond program. Using Bowman’s Hill’s New Educational Pond as an outdoor classroom we will discuss planning and design and placement as well as plant selection, focusing on native plants suitable for ponds. In addition, water testing and treatment, pest management and proper use of pesticides around water will be discussed.

9:00 – 10:00 – Planning your Pond – Design and Site Considerations
10:00 – 11:00 - Water testing and treatment
11:00 – 12:00 – Native Plants for Ponds
12:00 – 1:00 – LUNCH
1:00 – 2:00 – Algae control methods in Ponds
2:00 – 3:00 – Using Pesticides Safely near water.

This course is eligible for 5 PCH CEUs
