Regional Green Industry Professionals are invited to join Penn State Extension and Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve for a day-long pond program. Using Bowman’s Hill’s Wildflower Meadow as an outdoor classroom we will explore the design, installation and plant selection for creating a native meadow. Ways to explain realistic expectations regarding meadow maintenance and display will be discussed as well as maintenance needs. Learn all about this popular lawn alternative, how this type of planting can work to manage storm water and how discuss all of this with your clients when they ask for a ‘low-maintenance’ meadow to replace their lawn. Professional CEUs will be offered.
