Will Help Meet OSHA Requirements for Employee Safety Training

Chain SawHERNDON, VA - PLANET has announced the availability of a free safety training program for landscape contractors. The training program includes training materials and safety posters to increase awareness among employees. The materials and posters are available in both English and Spanish.

The program and training materials are available on PLANET’s web site by clicking here. Posters can be ordered for the cost of shipping by downloading and completing the form here.

Why this safety training is so important:

  • Losses from struck by/crushed lost-time injuries among landscape professionals are about 2 to 5 times higher than all U.S. private industry.
  • The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) studies show that about 60 percent of workers with daily noise exposure above 85 decibels will develop permanent hearing loss with 10 or more years of exposure.
  • OSHA has training requirements for noise control, struck by, and crushed hazards.
  • Failure to train can result in OSHA citations. A trained workforce is a more productive workforce.

It is a great way for an employer to expand its ongoing training program with new materials at no cost.
