WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congress has headed home for the month of August. On the topic of workforce and immigration reform, what members of the House of Representatives hear while they are home will shape their attitudes and actions when they return on September 9 to Washington. If they hear from constituents urging House action on meaningful immigration reform measures, there will be post-August momentum. If they only hear from opponents, the opportunity may pass.
PLNA is working with ANLA and a coalition of other ag groups to visit Pennsylvania Congressional representatives while they are home. This may be our best chance for getting Congress to act on immigration reform.
Please take a moment to visit the ANLA Legislative Action website to send a message to your representative in the U.S. House, urging them to act. And, during August, call their district office to urge them forward (you can find local office contact information by entering your zip code on the ANLA Legislative Action page).
The message is simple: America’s immigration system is broken, and Congressional inaction is not a solution! The House must move the issue forward when they return in September.
