HARRISBURG – Last month, e-News
contained an answer to a question about how sales taxes are levied on delivery
charges. The answer was correct, but incomplete. What was not included in the
answer was that delivery charges that are billed directly by the carrier (i.e.,
FedEx, UPS, etc.) are not subject to sales and use taxes, regardless of the tax status of the items being shipped.
Thanks to Jimmy Kreider of Land
Studies for bringing this to our attention!
