HARRISBURG - PLNA member Fred Strathmeyer, Jr. of the Strathmeyer Companies has been appointed by governor Tom Wolf as deputy secretary at the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
Before assuming his new position at PDA, Strathmeyer had been vice president at The Strathmeyer Companies, a group of companies that include Strathmeyer Forests, Inc., Strathmeyer Landscape and Strathmeyer Christmas Trees. The Strathmeyer Companies were founded 83 yeas ago by Strathmeyer's great-grandfather.

PLNA wishes him well in his new position and will be doing all we can to assist him. It's great to have someone who knows our industry inside at PDA!
Congratulations Fred!!! You did it!! I am very happy for you and for our industry because you "get it" so you will be able to speak well to our wants and needs. Enjoy your new position and hope to see you somewhere soon.
