Patrick Meinert, PCH of Meinert Landscaping
2014 Exceptional Leadership
The Exceptional Leadership Award recognizes the efforts of individuals or
groups that "step up to the plate” to take on different tasks in the name of
the Association. This award is open to any individual or group that has
dedicated significant time or effort to advancing the "PLNA cause." The
award is a piece of marble in the shape of home plate. The marble to symbolize
the fact that these types of efforts are the foundation of the PLNA and
continue to build the association and the shape to symbolize the fact that
these individuals have stepped up to the plate in a big way. Of course the
green marble is for the "Green Industry.”
Patrick Meinert, PCH of Meinert Landscaping is one of two recipients for PLNA’s 2014 Exceptional Leadership Award.
Pat has been instrumental in bringing the Landscape Industry Certified Technician (CLT)
certification to the western portion of Pennsylvania. PLNA is licensed to
administer the CLT exam through the national association PLANET. Initially, PLNA administered this exam only in
the eastern portion of the state, Berks County, in late summer. After a few years, the Education committee
discussed the possibility of filling the gap of time and location by holding an
exam in the Winter and in the western portion of the state. Pat stepped up to the plate to make it
happen. In January 2006, PLNA held it’s
first western CLT exam. And it was
INDOORS. Through Pat’s connections, he
was able to find PLNA warehouse space that would allow us to haul in sod,
trees, shrubs, sand, pavers, run irrigation etc. for just 3 days at no
charge. Pat continues to serve as our Western CLT co-chair. Pat could not join us today, but he would
like us to share his appreciation for the recognition and the honor.
