Gloria Day
2015 Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame Award is to recognize individuals who have served PLNA, the horticulture industry and their community throughout their lifetime. This award is designed as a tribute to volunteerism in PLNA and outstanding achievements in the horticulture industry. The recipient is judged on their promotion of PLNA and the industry, their standard of ethics, and the level of activity within the Association. The PLNA Hall of Fame Award has a strong history in the Association, with the first recipient Albert F. Meehan in 1952.

The recipient of the 2015 Hall of Fame Award is Gloria Day.
Gloria is the President of Pretty Dirty Ladies, Inc. Garden Design & Maintenance in Leesport.  Gloria is well known in the industry as a speaker and garden writer in addition to her commitment to the Government Relations efforts of PLNA.   Gloria advocates for the industry in everything she does including her volunteer efforts on the Governors’ Residence Horticultural Advisory Committee on which she has served since 2003.  Her freelance writing in both trade and consumer publications consistently promotes the benefits of this industry and she also co-hosts a local television station’s quarterly program "New Arts Alive – NewArtscape” featuring innovative landscapes and design.  Gloria served on the PLNA Board of Directors, served two terms as Government Relations committee chair, and served on the Nominating committee.  Currently she continues as a member of the Government Relations committee and the Professional Development committee and represents PLNA on the PA Invasive Species Council.
