Title: Spray Adjuvants for the Green Industry
Speaker: Sandy Feather, Penn State Extension Educator

Adjuvants are spray tank additives which applicators use to improve the efficacy of pesticides. There are many adjuvants and other spray aids that are used by Green Industry professionals including spreaders, spreader-stickers, extenders, activators, compatibility agents, and more. Correct use of adjuvants will improve pesticide efficacy, but incorrect selection, mixing or application can be injurious to plants. This talk will discuss the wide range of adjuvants used by Green Industry Professionals and help participants understand correct selection and use.

Title: Controlling grassy weeds in turfgrass with herbicides
Speaker: Dr. Peter Landschoot

Weedy grasses and sedges can be a challenge in the management of turfgrass. Weeds such as crabgrass, quackgrass, yellow nutsedge and dallisgrass can be controlled if you know how to identify them, understand their lifecycle and have knowledge of pre- and post-emergence herbicides for weedy grass management. This talk will describe the common species of weedy grasses in turfgrass and discuss current management strategies with herbicides.
