Bruce Fritzinger, RLA
2014 Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame Award is to recognize individuals who have served PLNA, the horticulture industry and their community throughout their lifetime. This award is designed as a tribute to volunteerism in PLNA and outstanding achievements in the horticulture industry. The recipient is judged on their promotion of PLNA and the industry, their standard of ethics, and the level of activity within the Association. The PLNA Hall of Fame Award has a strong history in the Association, with the first recipient Albert F. Meehan in 1952.

The recipient of the 2014 Hall of Fame Award is Bruce Fritzinger.  Bruce is the Chairman and head of the Landscape Architecture division of Plantique, Inc. in
Allentown.  Talk about a lifetime in horticulture, Bruce was born into it with his father starting the business the same year Bruce was born.  Bruce continued his love for horticulture, obtaining his Landscape Architect degree from Penn State University and becoming a Registered Landscape Architect.  Returning home to the business, Bruce became one of the lead designers and has earned many awards for for his designs.  Those awards have come from PLNA, the Lehigh Valley Builders Association and more, but Bruce believes that customer satisfaction and giving back to the community are more important than awards.  Bruce spends his spare time and money working with non-profits and charity events, such as the Hispanic American Organization, the Environmental Club at William Allen High School, the Wildlands Conservancy and many others.

In addition to his community service, Bruce has served on the PLNA Board of Directors; is current Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the PLNA Foundation and serves on the PLNA Membership Committee.  Bruce is also a dedicated judge for the CLT exam.  We look forward to many more years of Bruce’s leadership and commitment to the industry.
