Thousands of kids and “kids at heart” visited the PLNA booth at the 2018 Pennsylvania Farm Show and showed off their knowledge of plants and pollinators. A visit to the PLNA booth provided participants in the AgExplorer program a flower stamp for Pollinators, just one of many needed for a chance at the ultimate prize, a year supply of ice cream.

To earn the stamp the kids could choose to identify what plants need to grow, name the parts of a plant or match pollinators with the plants they pollinate. After touting their knowledge, they proudly got their stamp and also walked away with a coloring/activity book – The ABCs of Healthy Lawns and Landscapes and crayons.

The coloring/activity book is a publication of the National Association of Landscape Professionals that PLNA has the rights to reprint. If you will be attending an event where these books could be distributed, please contact Cathy or Tina. This is just one of the many avenues to kick-start an interest in a career in the green industry.
