PCH Associate Program

The Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturist (PCH) Associate program is for horticultural students or green industry employees who have not yet gained the experience to pass the professional PCH exam but want to pursue certification which test which tests his/her knowledge of plant health care practices, basic botany, soils and climate and plant identification. This is the "core" module of the professional PCH exam. A PCH Associate must maintain certification through a program of continuing education credits to ensure his/her ongoing knowledge and expertise as a professional in the horticultural industry.

The PCH Associate program was created to provide an industry recognized exam to high school and career and technical school horticulture program students as requested by the PA Department of Education. As the PLNA Board of Directors reviewed the program they realized this may be what many employers are looking for  help advance their employees within their company.  Accordingly, there are two different programs based on the level of knowledge and experience of the interested individual - PCH Associate Student and PCH Associate Employee.
